“Peaceful society is born at the place where something different in an opinion coexists,” said the founder of Tsuru Gakuen. For our group of 12 students, it was more than just difference we discovered during our cultural sojourn to Hiroshima. It was also beyond warm Japanese hospitality, which we still remain indebted to. Nor was it the gorgeous, picturesque Miyajima nor the succulent fresh oysters (and ice-cream after ice-cream) we devoured. More importantly, it was conversation, fraternity, sportsmanship, and – the greatest of all – friendship, and the initiative and tenacity that come with it, that define our immersion programme in Hiroshima. Thank you HITP and SP, for coordinating this indelible experience for us.”
