The Kanazawa Technical College (KTC) visited Singapore Polytechnic on 9 November 2016 for a 1-day student exchange programme. More than 100 students from KTC joined our SP students as they enjoyed a Chinese cultural performance by the SP Lion Dance and toured around the different school facilities. The students also the chance to try out some of the sports with our SP student teams such as Basketball, Tchoukball and Soccer. The KTC students also had the opportunity to enjoy a SP style fruits party, where they tried our King of Fruits- Durian. Read on to find out on a reflection from one of the student involved in the hosting.

Reflection for KTC Inbound 2016

KTC inbound has truly been an eye-opening experience that was clearly well-planned and coordinated. Although I was only present for the second day, I made many new friends whom I met through sitting at the same table with during dinner. Despite the language barrier, we were still able to adequately communicate with one another; learning more about each other’s’ culture and a few words along the way. I feel that this event allowed me to broaden my circle of friends and gave me the opportunity to interact with students from abroad to learn more about their customs and interests.

KTC students were also very friendly and amicable towards me; even handing me a souvenir from Japan before they left. As we shared the same interests, it was fairly easy getting along with the students at my table through talking and discussing about our shared hobbies.

After dinner, we sent the students off at the airport. Before they left, we took several photos together and said our farewells.
